Yesterday brought a December surprise to the Washington region, as one of those little "clipper" storms that never bring us any snow managed to squeak out four inches of the fluffy stuff over here in Arlington.
The Curmudgeon kids confidently declared at bedtime that there'd be no school today (although, in typically curmudgeonly fashion, dad predicted there'd only be a delay).
Imagine their shock, their disappointment, ney, even their anger, to learn that the poobahs in the Arlington school system had declared that school must go on, albeit two hours late.
They'll get over it.
