Deeds Leads; Wagner Wins

As of 7:45 pm, Creigh Deeds has a commanding lead. He leads in almost every county, so we think he'll win. Results HERE.

Meanwhile, Jody Wagner has crushed Mike Signer.

Looks like Deeds/Wagner in November.

Deeds crushed the other guys. Very impressive. And Patrick Hope won big in the 47th. My opinion is that the Washington Post's endorsement is still important, especially in a low turnout election.

Glad to have you as a reader Charvakan! Yep, Deeds did a great job, almost winning 50% on his own. WaPo certainly carries more weight than this little blogger (and a few others). We like Deeds a lot; we just hope he has what it takes to beat McDonnell (heck, he just needs about 500 more votes than last time he ran against McD). We'll support him enthusiastically.

Considering Virginia's penchant for electing governors of the opposite party from the sitting President, it may be an uphill battle. But Deeds has a chance; the other guys had no chance.

I followed the link to your book, Ken, and realized what a small world it is. I'm Chris Siple, one of the dinosaur "elementary school club" supporting fuddy-duddies from ASA. I'm also a Dem precinct captain in Barcroft, and it's the politics that caused me to do the google search that led me to your very nice blog.

Can you believe the Washington Post headline for the related article: "Deeds Sets Site on General Election Contest"? Site?! What is happening to our use of the English language? Maybe it was an intentional play on words, and that Deeds was updating his website for the general election, but I think not.
