A couple days ago we noted a recent poll in SC with Mitt Romney in a surprising lead, and wondered whether it was just an anomaly. See Romney Surprise In SC?Apparently not--a second recent poll, conducted by Winthrop University in SC, has Romney in a virtual dead-heat with Giuliani and Thompson in the Palmetto State. The Winthrop poll covered a longer period of time, and thus is not quite as recent as the ARG poll that had Romney in the lead--in other words, consistent with a Romney surge through October.
Maybe one of our politically astute SC readers will leave a comment or two on what's happening down there--have Carolina evangelicals finally gotten comfortable with a Massachusetts Mormon and his brand new views on social issues?
