Warner To Retire, Leaving Door Open For Warner?

Right wing pundit (and exposer of CIA agents) Bob Novak reports that Republicans expect Sen. John Warner to announce his retirement soon, which would pave the way for a strong run by former Virginia Governor Mark Warner.

Could Virginia really go from two GOP Senate seats to two Dem Senate seats in just two years? We say yes.

I would think Mark Warner would pass on the Senate seat for a possible VP Nod (the VP chance only comes once in a life time) or the govenor's mansion in 2009. Once he runs for seat, he ends his chances for the VP slot even though he would be favorite to win the seat. If he isn't selected for VP, he can always run for Governor and Senate in the future.
