The Dems missed an opportunity to declare victory on this one. Bush had to do something to placate the conservatives. A pardon would negate Libby's guilt. Commuting the sentence doesn't, and he still has to pay the fine and the crime he committed stays on his record.
Schumer et al should be praising Bush for AGREEING with the verdict (Guilty!), declare victory, and move on.
